Ahh, Vanguard. A great game bogged down with so many problems is still undeniably a great game. SOE has given us the chance to introduce this game to a new player in a big, big way. Today we're giving away the Collector's Edition of Vanguard, plus a 90 day game card to extend your time in-world for a third of a year. Four months of game time if you include the free month that comes with the account! We've got a ton more swag for you on top of that greatness; we'll throw in an SOE podcast t-shirt, SOE-branded binocs, and a DC Universe Online pen/flashlight that shines the Bat Symbol! Estimated total retail value of the pack is $100.
All you have to do to enter is leave a comment on this post telling us what your favorite under-appreciated MMO is. Are you fan of Planetside, or perhaps Dungeons and Dragons Online? Let us know! To get the Vanguard pack you'll need to comment before 7:00 AM EST Friday, November 7th. You can only enter once per person, and after the contest closes we'll ship out this fantastic prize to one randomly-selected winner. Give us at least a week to ship out this massive pile of swag, though. To win you must be age 18 or up and a resident of the US or Canada (excluding Quebec). For full eligibility details, we suggest you read our official rules. Good luck!

Vanguard. Hands down. Sure it has its bugs and glitches. It is hands down the best game out there. Graphically it is awesome. Detailed to a T. Sadly this calls for some upscale PCs which many in the playerbase simply don't have. Which I believe is killing its population.

Vanguard, hands down. Alot of the launch bugs are gone - some still persist - but the game have improved tremendously all we need now is a small influx of players who actually want to play the game, not just b**** that it isnt like wow...

Vanguard would be my choice. It's under-appreciated by the general MMO populace. IMO, it has the most rich and in-depth game on the market. I love it!

Who says under-appreciated mmo's have to be from the past? I really like Wizard101 and feel it's unappreciated. Maybe with their payment options it will become more popular.

I have to admit.. I've been tempted to play this one.. and what better way to give it a shot than when it's free to do so for four months!

Would have to be Vanguard, I thought it was decent even in beta. I would love to see all the new changes they've made.

DDO. I still have guildmates over there who refuse to leave, hoping the rest of the guild will come back and trust me - we're seriously considering it!

My favorite under-appreciated MMO is Vanguard.
Mostly due to a release of a title that was still in beta stages. Released too early due to shortage of funds, handed over to SOE who hosted the VG servers. Sony pretty much absorbed a game made by dev's formerly coded Everquest. VG shows hues of similar content and strategies throughout the world of Telon.
High system requirements and heavily bugged content drove people away in hordes. A server merge was done to repopulate to allow for easier grouping with some improvements.
Since, many patches and game updates have improved the game a %&$# ton, loads of content that has been added, SOE doesn't even have plans for an expansion at the moment due to soo much existing un-itemized geography that you will continue to get FREE content update to update. New RAIDing content coming, , just dropped 8 new contested overland RAID mobs for all of you "I beat Vanguard" guilds that left for over-appreciated crap games that will go nowhere, lore and gameplay that SOE has proved to be able to produce with such big hitters as EQ itself.
The game is here for a longhaul, fun and challenging gameplay will keep you wanting more. Heck you can't not play a game that doesn't have "AKANDE THE BUTCHER" ;) A great new starting area that helps you get a feel for what the game has to offer. A great crafting system and an exclusive diplomatic sphere that adds to the depth of what the game has to offer. If you got the hardware this game will reward your eyes with excellent landscapes and textures.
The game is still under-appreciated and this comment contest is exactly what the game needs to get the word out to those who have not tried or put the game down due to early bugs and heavy system requirements. Your not gonna see any commercials the intentions are more leaning on the players and doing a little bit of "viral advertising" ;) I don't need a third Collectors Edition box set I love my two that I have already. That Batman light pen thingy you got there sounds pretty cool though. I can find a good home for extra box.
Heh, anyways, if your still reading this and you don't have the game go give it a try, I dare you!

My favorite under rated MMO is definitely Vanguard. Such a beautiful game, and so rich in story and community. Of all the "next gen" MMOG's out there, it has the highest potential of capturing the magic that once lived in Everquest.
The world is vibrant, the encounters grandiose on all scales, and yet most people give up on their adventures because things are not given to them easily.
Whatever happened to adventurers, the heroes, the legends...

My wife and I have played alot of MMORPGs, but Vanguard, by far, has everything we always said we wanted in a game; The soryline quests, the crafting (even the crafter quests add action and story the game), the graphics.... wow, so much to the game it would take me more then 1 post to spell it all out. We waited till alot of the bugs, that we read about and our friends had told us about, were fixed before tring it out and now wish we would have started playing it when it 1st came out.
Vanguard is the next greatest MMORPG. Try Vanguard. They offer a free trial now so you have nothing to lose.
lol, I sound like an add!
