There's just about two weeks left until the next expansion for EverQuest II hits the scene. SOE and Massively want to get you set up with the last expansion content today! Today we're giving away a Rise of Kunark expansion box, plus a 90 day game card to extend your time in-world for a full third of a year. Four months of game time if you include the free month that comes with the account! And remember, these new expansions include all the previous expansion to boot: no need to own the original game to enjoy Kunark. We've got a ton more swag for you on top of that greatness; we'll throw in a Living Legacy T-shirt, an art book featuring the concept art of EverQuest II, and an adorable stuffed monkey wearing an EQ2 t-shirt! Estimated total value is about $130.
All you have to do to enter is leave a comment on this post telling us why you play EverQuest II, or why you want to. You'll need to comment before 7:00 AM EST Friday, November 7th. You can only enter once per person, and after the contest closes we'll ship out this fantastic prize to one randomly-selected winner. Give us at least a week to ship out this massive pile of swag, though. To win you must be age 18 or up and a resident of the US or Canada (excluding Quebec). For full eligibility details, we suggest you read our official rules. Good luck!

Been playing since launch and it is the best, most polished game on the market. Trust me I have tried the rest and always come back home.

I want to play EQ2 because it has been awhile and I left before the last expansion came out. Free game time to check it out would be awesome!

I'm a 9 year vet of EQ1, but never tried EQ2 due to my loyalty to it's predecessor and lacking machine specs. I recently left EQ1 due to the declining population and being burnt out after the many years of playtime. I am also ordering a new machine very soon, EQ2 would be a great free gift after spending $1000++ on a new gaming rig.

EQ2 was the first MMO I ever really got into. Running around Norrath on a late Friday night with a few good friends was a blast.

I've played MUDs for close on ten years now, and WoW for 1 year, and I'd like to try out EQ and see what all the fuss is about

Ever since the very birth of Everquest 2 into the MMO market, I have enjoyed it far beyond what the competition has to offer. Stunning visuals, a community full of wonderful, mature and helpful people, and a solid core game play that suits all types of players - whether it be casual for a couple hours a night to even the more hardcore raiding scene for those who prefer it; Everquest 2 is there.
Bringing a new character into Everquest 2 feels like an adventure in itself. I can't count the number of times I have brought in a new friend or player and fought valiantly along their side and found something new, interesting and completely exciting every single time I pass through the zones I know and love. The faction system is still one of my favorite things about the Everquest franchise, knowing that you can do nearly anything - at either a benefit or detriment to your character's well being in Norrath.
The expansions offered in Everquest 2 continually hit the peak of my expectations, with beautiful creatures, stunning landscapes and dungeons, and challenging content to shake even the most experienced and toughened raiders in their boots. With the introduction of Mythical items to the game, I'm always motivated and excited to log onto Everquest 2 and see what the world has in store for me today. Always something to look forward to, always something to work to achieve, and ultimately become an integral part of your servers community is another great aspect of Everquest 2.
Everquest 2 started to me as a game, after a long many years in the Norrath I still love and hold dear in Everquest Live; however has evolved into something much more alive and realistic. Knowing that behind every gnome, troll, and elf lies a person just like me who is looking to get something unique out of the experience just like I am, and working together in a collaborative effort to accomplish our numerous goals.
I think Everquest 2 is a great mechanism for teamwork, friendship, community building and leadership and I dearly hope that more retired veterans and new players alike will look past the original launch reviews and pick up the game, and see all the wonderful changes that have occurred over the years. I promise, you won't be disappointed!

Everquest 2 is a great example of a niche game. The Antonia Bayle community is filled with amazing people who are very worth getting to know and are a joy to game with. EQ2 is one of those games that is engaging from the earliest levels without the need to feel pressure to grind up. You get to enjoy the game all the way through.

The main reason I'd want to check out the sequel is mainly because everybody I talked to said nothing but bad things about it. Being the open-minded person I am I wanted to check it out to judge for myself, but lack of motivation coupled with lack of funds and too many things to play kept me from doing so. I loved Everquest so I can't imagine 2 would be so bad.
