Most MMORPG have some form of politics involved, expecially the ones that involve some form of faction gameplay. In MMORPGs like warhammer online you'll always see, between each faction, a power-struggle between guilds to gain leadership between the faction itself. There normally are no elections involved, but people express their vote by following the one that their deem as their favored candidate.

I havn't played in a while but ATitD has votting on laws (which get coded into the game) and one of the tasks of the leadership path is to get elected by the other players. Once elected you have power over other players including the ability to ban them from the game.
