As far as WOW goes, it was fun, but the fun gets to be boring the more it repeats, no matter how pretty of a picture you put over it.

I left right before the last patch, and still talk to my old guild there. They have a few people leaving before the xpac releases due to the fact that they are tired of the same old thing, with a new picture.

It is still a fun game and those new to MMO's will always like it, and WOW hasa 20 year shelf life easily..but I am done and glad I had my fun while there.

Now it is time for a more involved MMO that is more casual about play style but still has an involved questline and story.

Well, the game is coming up on 4 years, I'm not sure what people expect - yes, its repetitive and boring to do the same old thing. But what are the options? Play any other MMO for that same period and I guarantee that you will experience the same feelings. I've been playing MMOs for a long time, I've probably played close to 20 MMOs and beta tested close to 50 MMOs - they're all the same..........its basically; kill, loot, level. And until someone comes along and shatters that mold that is, in a nutshell, what MMOs are.

The original asherons call had the best leveling and actually involved combat (you could dodge spells etc with some skill). If someone would just re-skin that damn game I would never play anything else. I just cant play it anymore with the lego looking character models, I have been spoiled i guess. WoW I think would be allot more fun if it wasn't for the majority of the game requiring 8 hours of freetime in a block to actually do. I'm a grown man, I don't think I have had 8 hours to myself in a row in a few months.

If wow is such a "waste of time," than you must think MMO's in general are a waste of time - so I are you posting on an MMO site?

Why do you feel compelled to rip on WoW?

Why do you feel compelled to defend WoW? Not everyone enjoys the game like they use to. I been playing the game since mid 2004 and it IS getting old to me. Most games do burn out. The next X pac might be a small incentive to play but I want to see and do more things than what WoW allows for.

I dont know guys i also left some time before the last patch and i dont think i regret it. I mean whats left there , grind, do the instances which get old pretty quick then farm the raid instances seing the same thing, over and over and over again.

I liked the game since i played from beta but man the balancing is atrocious. Look what they have done to palies :) I laugh now because its the exact same thing they did to hunters on the previous expansion. Made them fun to play and nerfed them to death in 2 weeks :P

Anyway i am happy that my guild stayed and i still speak to them but give it 1 or 2 more years and most people will be leaving, mostly to the new mmo Bliz is making :) (Man really hope its not fantasy)

This reads like an ad for the WotLK expansion.
