Massively is just a week and a half away from its first birthday, and we're winding our Best of Massively series down in the final days! This week we're listing five stories we wrote that caused a lot of people to get very angry -- sometimes at us, sometimes at game developers or other industry figures, and sometimes at all of the above!
If you have a thick skin for controversy (or if you're drawn to it like a moth to a flame like a lot of us are!), check out the list. Just... let's not let it come to violence, okay?

Easily when they announced the content cuts from Warhammer Online. It made me laugh how pissed off people got. I wasn't too happy at first either but it made sense when they explained it. I'm looking forward to trying the new Dark Elf guy!

I was still an AoC fanboy back then (Ugh, I hate to admit it) so I trolled the fuck out of people when the news broke out.
I have to say though that the AoC "scandal" was the worst this year. Really it ranks up there in largest disappointments for MMORPGs.

Bartle may be the founder of the MUD, but if he thinks Warhammer is WoW, he's a jackass. WoW PvP exists for one reason and one reason only - to procure gear which is essentially the sole objective of WoW. Warhammer is not about gear, it's about beating back the enemy and capturing their capital city. In other words, it has real objectives and substance.
I'd agree with him though that it's not hardcore - it's quite similar in fact to DAoC which was not hardcore. Hardcore is UO, Shadowbane and AC - Darktide.
In any event, my opinion of Bartle has dropped substantially after reading that interview.

How come in your Warhammer/WarCraft picture you use a screenshot of the Warhammer Orc and a cinematic of the WarCraft Orc?
It makes it seem like Warcraft graphics are so much better than Warhammer, which is not the case.
