Having just recently left WOW to go back to LOTRO, this is great news for me and all of the new low level players on Brandywine.

Thanks Turbine!

Beginning 30th October until 3rd of November we’re inviting players to come back and play LOTRO. The doors will be open for former players to enter the world of Middle-earth and prepare for the journey into the Mines of Moria™.

If you’ve got a friend who used to play LOTRO and hasn’t logged in for a while then let them know about this great weekend, everyone can take part!

All you have to do is download or patch up to the most recent version of the game client and log in on 30th October. Your account will already have been re-activated for you and your previous characters will be there waiting to resume their adventure!

So this is actually a FREE time to play for anyone that had an account for the game before.

This is a EU only event due to the fact that they missed it first time round.

Double XP weekends / XP increases in general result from one of two conditions:

1. The publisher wants to sell more expansions at any cost to the game play

2. The game is failing and the publisher needs people to feel rewarded for continuing to play.

Whether out of greed (1) or desperation (2) these increases only serve to cheapen the content of the game and the time players have put into the game.
