No doubt the anticipation of WotLK and massive attrition of his own game pushed him to release the classes this quickly, he had no choice to keep interest in WAR any other way.

lol. ya. That's the reason. It's not b/c they were taken out at beta to be improved, and they wanted them in the game asap. Not at all.

Anyway, good stuff. Mythic is all over making improvments. Fast too. They listen to the palyers, and don't jsut give in to every crying baby. I love how he flat out said "We're not touching classes yet, b/c we want to see where they are truely lacking". Not just reactionary changes. Good on ya, guys.

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!!

It's up for debate and opinion if this game is better then WoW or not, but one thing is for certain.

Mythic >>>>>>>>>> Blizzard.

Yes, you're right - Mythic is better then Blizzard. After all Blizzard has only sold gazillions of copies of their games; some unknown titles like Warcraft I II & III, Starcraft, Diablo I & II and WoW have just not sold as well as DAoC. If only Blizzard could come close to the successes that Mythic has had to this point.....oh to dream.

/sarcasm off

You dipshit.........DAoC was a niche game, WAR is a niche game - combined they don't even come close to sniffing the ass of Blizzard.

Put down the meth, change your clothes, shower and become a responsible member of society and not the drain that you are today.

Damn Leshrac, did he touch a nerve or something? Generally smaller companies can be more personal and responsive than large giants. I have plenty of respect for Blizzard but Mythic simply blows them out of the water when it comes to responding to players.

Anyways, I read this earlier today before class and I have to agree, it's awesome. Really looking forward to these next few months.

Isn't it interesting how wow fanboys react when they run out of arguments? Rivers of profanity and personal attacks to hide their own insecurities.

And of course big statements aboyt "gazillion copies sold", like quantity was equal to quality.

If copies sold and general popularity were any indication of quality, reality shows would be "quality TV" and tabloids would be "quality press".

Sorry leshrac, if reality challenges your little fanboyish beliefs, but yes:

Mythic >>>>>> Blizzard

I don't care about the Mythic vs Blizzard or WoW vs WAR debates. I like 'em both. Oh and you're a total jackass Leshrac. Go back under your bridge (Your post history paints a clear picture of you as a big, ugly troll.)

Anyway, back on topic, I'm really excited and encouraged to see that they meant what they said about getting the missing classes in ASAP. I don't plan to play either of the two being added in December, but it's just nice to see how quick and responsive the dev team is.

I may play a Choppa when it gets added, but I'm not sure...loving my Zealot so much =P (If you've read previous posts of mine I was an AM but I've defected and joined the army of Destruction...rawr!)

Adding an influence system to RvR is going to be awesome! I can't wait for that. Most of all though, I'm looking forward to continued improvements in game performance. My fps problems have almost disappeared but the stuttering and occassionally long load times when zoning remain. My recently upgraded comp should be more than capable of running this game smoothly, so I'm assuming these are issues that Mythic needs to fix.

Speak for yourself about no choice to keep attention on WAR. The game is improving almost daily not monthly or longer like 99% of all other MMO's. I have been impressed with the dedication the Mythic team has shown for improving their game and it's no doubt in part due to being backed by the biggest game company in the world EA. EA messes up alot but they have done nothing wrong on this game. The new classes and the fact that Mythic listens to its playerbase is a sign that not all companies only cater to the cry babies.

He admitted to the stuttering problem, which is the first for Mythic. They just kept a customer, simply because they admitted it exists. I hate denial and being ignored, and when a company is at least honest, I'll stick with them.

I'm encouraged by this.

Short Term though:

1. RVR Itemization revamp
2. Exp rewards for RVR (attk or defend)
3. Exp rewards for battlefield objectives
4. PVE mob and quest exp increases
5. PQ influence increases(kills/completions)

These are things that should be relatively quick fixes. They are certainly needed, preferably before December.

MJ confirmed on the Vnboards that the changes will just culminate with 1.1, but they'll continue to patch the game weekly or more until then. 1.04 is already in the pipeline.

Mythic seem to be doing alot to cater for their players. Although I really enjoyed WoW, for me the days of Azeroth are over. WoLK holds no interest whatsoever.

I just can't see the point of all that development being put into content you can't see unless your guild raids 5 nights a week. (Advanced WoW dungeons) The new content will be a race to 80 and then boredom and tiny kit improvements every 2 weeks.

No thanks. Warhammer has months of play in it and then perhaps something new. After all, if people want to get new exciting things... maybe they should consider buying a few games! Shock horror!

Actually it's quite the opposite. The timing of the patch is very advantageous for mythic. If they did it at the same time or around the time of the release of WOTLK, many people would have been forced to chose between the two games.
Around one month after WOTLK's launch, instead, will work much better, because it'll come exactly when people will start realizing that it's more of the same soup, that death knight is more of the same soup as well, and that WOW+WOTLK is still a damn old game with no real improvement and just a few, underdeveloped placebos (wintergrasp) added. This will possibly shift back a good portion of the ones that will leave to go try WOTLK.

The announcements themselves were nothing short of stellar, expecially the inclusion of new classes and the improvements to the RvR system, if they keep all the promises for 1.1 (and i don't thing with little more than a month it's an easy thing to do), the game, which for me has been already quite great, will become hands down lovely.

Massively seems to have missed the altogether-more-important announcement from Mythic today: (well, not more IMPORTANT, maybe, but more suprising, definitely)

They announced the new server bonuses, and there are actually servers where Order outnumbers Destruction so badly that they're having to entice Destro players to come over! I thought it would be months, even years before I saw that red "needs more Destruction" flag go up. Instead it's been roughly a week. Maybe all that talk about the game finding balance has some truth to it after all...

Keep in mind Simons, there are plenty of servers that have a myriad of Destruction and an Order population barley worth mentioning. The problem is not that more players are on Order, the problem is that there are more players on one side than the other, on select servers of course.

Granted - absolutely true. My point was that the rhetoric up until this point has always been about "Destruction outnumbers Order for ", and this latest list of server bonuses seems to counterindicate that kind of thinking, since clearly there are some servers where the opposite is true, and true enough that Mythic feels bonuses are necessary to lure Destruction players to these servers. (Which implies, though certainly doesn't prove, that there are other servers with less severe Order overpopulations.)

It's not a sign that everything is hunky-dory by any stretch - indeed, as you point out, if everything was hunky-dory, the bonus list would be empty - but it does suggest the common belief that the game is entirely Destruction over-populated is wrong. That's a point I feel it is important to make, since having individual pockets of imbalance in both directions on various servers suggests a better overall balance than a universal imbalance in favor of one side, and thus a healthier overall game, despite what common knowledge and anecdotal evidence would have us believe.

Hmmmm - that was supposed to read "Destruction outnumbers Order for <favorite reason X>" - but Massively ate the brackets.

I would really encourage people to try Warhammer it is new an innovative in some interesting ways.

It isn't perfect and does have bugs. But so did WoW when it came out. People seem all too eager to forget that.

Given support and feedback mythic do seem to be willing to listen to their player base.

The bugs are not game breaking at all. A few more weeks and more improvements will be there.
