We almost missed this major revelation on our sister site WoW Insider -- we might not have caught it if Eurogamer hadn't. Deep within WoW Insider's excellent liveblog of the World of Warcraft PvP panel at Blizzcon, you'll find that Blizzard reps let slip that players will soon be able to earn experience points in addition to honor in PvP.
That's already possible in WoW's new competitor Warhammer Online, in which it is essentially just as viable to level up to the cap in PvP as it is in PvE. The WoW devs are likely responding to the competition, knowing that they might lose big fans of PvP to WAR. In that vein, they're also ensuring that daily PvP quests are available from levels 10 - 80.
It's hard not to look at this as a good change. The only argument against it we can think of is that if a player levels from 10 - 80 entirely in the battlegrounds, he or she will not have the necessary experience to run instances and raids at later levels if a change of course is desired. But that seems like a fairly minor criticism of a long-needed addition to the game.

I am very very much enjoying WAR at the moment, but I must say that WoW does still hold some sway over me. I do however think that this is only the case because of the investment I've made into the one character I've ever gotten to level cap. That being said, I think this change is totally moronic as WoW PvP is one of the most unbalanced, infuriating experiences I've ever had in a game. Make these kinds of changes once the playing field is level and I don't spend my PvP time in some form of crowd control, crushed by dudes with no skill but good gear, or being rolled by whatever the flavor of the month is. Balance PvP, then I'll be back.

Heh, interesting.
Copy away WoW! I don't think I am coming back from WAR, but that is because in WAR I actually feel as though I can join an open party/warband and feel appreciated that I am there. Easy to join Scenarios (although I would like Public Quests and RvR lakes buffed) and more balanced classes (so far anyway).
WoW is almost too big for it's own good. The features are stacking in an awkward way, yet the game encourages min-maxing so although you have all these crazy choices, you really only have a couple for each class that you can use in the "end game".
So you can gain experience in yet another way. Like it was mentioned, WoW's PvP is pretty unbalanced in WoW. We will see what happens....
Wheee! Games! Fun!

That's good, except that WoW pvp is pure crap compared to WAR pvp.

I could be wrong, but didn't Blizzard basically invent the skill/talent tree concept in Diablo 2, then refined it for WoW?
Just asking, since it's been claimed the Blizzard invented nothing in WoW.
