I like WAR, but in the last week I haven't played it for more than 2-3 hours total. The world just feels empty.

I'm still on the fence. It's a fun game and all, but night after night tugging it out for the controll points and keeps has left a bitter taste in my mouth. The act itself is fun for a couple of hours, but in the end they are meaningless.

Last week I changed my billing from 3 mo to 1 mo because the game, as someone else put it, feels empty. I am enjoying it BUT am having a hard time seeing myself engaged for more than another month. As a matter of fact, as I type this, I am considering bailing out entirely. However, I want to give WAR more of a chance. I really want to love it but simply like it. I may go back to LOTRO-Moria. WoW has me curious after 2 years away but I doubt I will go in that direction. Lately I find myself playing more TF2.

I absolutely adore my server community and my guild. I don't foresee myself leaving them ANY time soon.

This is what it boils down to. If devs knew how to hook you with a great community and guild - man - they would make bank.

I'll be renewing for sure and as long as WAR is fun for me, I'll be in it. LOTRO expansion is starting to pique my interest, but my Guardian never got to 50 anyways so I can hop back in at any time before even buying that expansion. WotLK has no appeal to me at all, and AoC is still a few months away from being at where I want it.

They have mine. They should be proud. No game has gotten a monthly fee out of me for a while now.

WAR hasn't earned my money for this coming month, but might in the future.

Character customization & loot aspects have been a big let down, and I like the PvP ( more than I expected ) but I just cannot take the volume of PvP that mythic seem to have intended.

I am waiting for the ( possible ) introduction of Knight and Blackguard - since Swordmaster is the only current Tank that visually appeals to me but I find them too restrictive to play - then I plan to go on a PvE heavy Tome unlocking romp.
If that occupies me all the way up to the first expansion ( give or take solo concessions like the rumored introduction of PQ stage II+ scaling ), then so much the better - that would bring new PvE content and maybe a compelling Tank of the opposite faction to start over with.

Hands down yes. Canceled my City of Heroes subscription (after 36 months), migrated here to stay for the foreseeable future.

Funny thing happened: I got an invitation to the Stargate Worlds stress test on the day that WAR went live, and two more invitations since. I found that I was having so much fun in WAR that I didn't even bother downloading the beta client, and that was the next MMO I was looking forward to.

I'm on a Core/RP server, and to my taste, this is PVP done /right./

Absolutely. I’ve cancelled all other subs I carry, and I don’t plan on leaving WAR for quite some time. It’s an extremely fun game. Perfect? No. What game is? But, for what it does and offers, it’s extremely fun and immersive.

Personally, I really think joining a decent organized and dedicated guild (which is subjective) is clutch for the game though. WAR really isn’t that solo friendly, unless you want to play scenarios all the time.

Until they fix all the Technical Issues, which are many, No. This articles implies alot less than there actually are. Mythic also lacks any real CS which is a must in any MMO, so until they fix up the game I'm out.

For now, I'm going to pay for WAR and WoW. Neither has caused me to quit the other, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

I'm most impressed by the responsiveness of Mythic to make fixes and to communicate with the players. That is probably the biggest reason I will continue paying to play.

Nah, I've already cancelled. I've been playing MMO's since Ultima Online and Asheron's Call and honestly, after all these years, it's more of the same.

I'm just tired of just new, pretty ways to conceal the grind.

I've never canceled a sub as fast as I canceled WAR. It's so empty-feeling and easy. I like mods in WoW that show me where the quest objectives are because I've done them all about ten times now and can't be bothered to read quest descriptions. I did the first time, however, and I enjoyed figuring out where the Venture company dudes were or whatever. The first time. WAR just assumes I'm an idiot and holds my hand to go kill ten rats.

This is pretty much just TF2 with dwarves and elves. You log onto a server and roll scenarios with random people who don't talk much. I guess you could get a guild together and get good at scenarios, but that won't really get you that much. Renown grinding and the race to get your statue in Altdorf or whatever reminds me of something, hmm, what what was it? Oh, yeah, the HWL grind in pre-TBC WoW. I have obligations other than video games, so I'll never compete in that.

With no player housing, crafting being easy, and very little to do other than fight fight fight for a city that, if it gets burned down, gets rebuilt like nothing happened a few days later, I see no reason to stick around.

For the most part, you're correct about it being TF2 with dwarves and elves. However, as I absolutely love TF2 I have no problem with this.

They're getting my money for another month, at least.
