Credibility is a precious resource; DJ Jester of w00tstudios.net is one of those people on the MMO circuit who has bags of it stashed under his mattress. His podcasts have always been right on the pulse, and he's had many worthy personages in the past as guests, from April 'CuppaJo' Burba to Matt 'Positron' Miller.
Now, Floyd 'Castle' Grubb, aka Castle the Powers Guy from City of Heroes, joins Jester and friends at the mike for a 41 minute megasesh in which the coming changes to powers in CoX are expertly dissected, laid out and examined for your delight and edification.
Among the highlights are a look at the Hero Epic Archetypes, the Kheldians, which are being buffed up in order to keep some kind of parity with the Villain equivalent, and an analysis of the removal of toggle dropping from mezzes.
There's a fair bit of new information in the interview. Most striking is the news that around 20% of the Ancillary and Patron pool powers will be replaced outright, with the new power simply replacing the old on login. There will be no 'grandfathering', whereby players who had the old version get to keep it. That must have been a nightmare to balance, and there's bound to be some fretting. Good luck, Castle!

How about some actual content?
I think "fretting" will be an understatement.

The mission creator was meant to be the actual content.
However that's been pushed back to early next year in order to add the ability to create your own villain groups and edit your own maps.
So for right now we have issue #13 we get new powersets, power re-balancing, day jobs, merits, the new perma sidekick system.
this winter we'll see issue #14: player made missions
followed by issue 15 which they've already said will be mostly content that will advance the storyline.
I love these improvements in issue #13 but my imagination is running wild with what we can do with custom story arcs!

There WILL be content in i13, as both Midnight Club and Cimeora were supposed to get additional missions. i13 is basically 'everything but the Architect'.
