I sure hope Mythic listens to this...there is a real need to merge some servers in Warhammer Online. I don't think there is anything wrong with moving people together...for an MMO to survive it really needs a sizeable, healthy community....without that it's dead!

Mark Jacobs already stated several times on the vnboards that if the underpopulated servers don't pick up soon they will issue free server transfers (which is much better than mergers). Differently from Funcom, he has no problem in admitting that they might have opened too many servers at launch.

Funny how until a couple months ago they were more than ready to censor any kind of discussion about it on their forums...

What a joke Funcom (aka Failcom) is these days. Hopefully their company will go down in flames. AOC just needs to hurry up and die.

If you are still paying a monthly subscription to that crappy game, your an idiot

Wooo … geroge. Did AoC come to you house and rape you in the shower? I quit AoC a few moths ago because of bugs, still I hope its get fixed up.
Some people still like it and play and the folks at Funcom have bills to pay. I don’t want to see a MMO company fold under just because I did not like AoC. Grow up some bud.

Man, george, you're back. Your life must be so empty.

Also, can moderator please ban this babbling idiot (again), nothing constructive ever comes out of his posts.

George, you are the only idiot. Apparently you quit the game "months" ago, but you still troll the AoC forums. Why? Never mind, I don't even matter.

thanks for you concise and intelligent feedback george. you are a plethera of knowledge.

on a non tolling note, it a good thing that they are doing this, though i'm hoping they offer toon transfers along with this. It was a hot topic on the forums for a very long time. Usually server merges this early in the games life is a really really bad PR move, and im not surprised that FC didnt want to do it until the vocal members of the community beat the topic to death. The game is not that bad, i love it, its evolving nicely with the new director. Ill say again what ive stated before. i think the big issue here is that they opened too many servers at launch, maybe feeding into their own hype a bit, but judging from abriael comment WAR did the same thing. What alot of people dont understand is that this is a business, and there are reasons for the devs not spilling thier guts to the community on a daily basis. take it with a grain of salt and enjoy the game that suits your needs.

Its pretty sad that funcom employees are coming here and saying how GREAT and AMAZING this crappy game is. Funcom is full of lying scammers that like to screw with their customers and treat them like shit.

If you are still a fanboy, I feel sorry for you. You must have bought the game after Failcom lied multiple times with their customers and falsely advertised their crappy game.

AOC can burn in hell with Funcom (aka Failcom)

I think the way the article is skewed is unfair reporting. What's the deal with the question mark in the title, and the *only* because of a vocal outcry statement? (I see 1up.com is also guilty of it.)

I read the source article, and I don't see where that question applies, or any negative implication thereof.

It's just a simple Q&A. Were people worried that an AoC server merge meant that the sky is falling and AoC is doomed?

No, goes the reply, in fact, we did this in part because the players were quite vocal about a server merge and everyone's happy because it improves the game experience by actually being able to see enough other players around to have a social community.

Which is true. People were asking for a server merge. Full stop. Not question mark.

Good. Funcom is showing that they do listen to their community, and we even have the Product Director admitting this:

"there are many other things which is of a higher importance, I think, and at the core of that is quality content on a month by month basis, delivering on promises and on player concerns, having a good communication so the players are in the know, and delivering a great service via customer service, community reps and GM’s. This combined, and doing it great, is what will eventually determine our long-term success."

The sky is falling. Funcom is actually making sense. Now to see if they can put their money where the mouth is going.
