I love how in REAL Warhammer, Altdorf has stood for thousands of years and has seen off armies hundreds of thousands strong....yet in WAR, a couple hundred players can sack it on a comparitively regular basis.

Ridiculous. Would have made more sense to use Middenheim or Salzenmund.

Or Hafensplookin! What about Nogelhagen! Why did they have to use Altdorf!? I agree, it is uber. Should have been Beepinhousin!

Next to the 2 issues I have with this main city siege endgame that I will list out here:

1. faction balance how fun is it too level up your city and ever time your get it to the next level the other faction take it away and you never can advents you also never can try to siege the other factions city like you are too much busy defending your own.

2. All the game is build around this so called RvR and when you are always on the losing side it will not just impact at the pvpers but also at the pve players like they never will get address the city instants and so on.

Both of this ones where easy to fix if there was more them 1 city for faction.

Anyway now the city siege endgame begun it turn out to be a bug fest (almost the same as AoC). Mythic was marketing this city siege for years they where even jumping around and saying this is there favorite part in the game..... And now it turns out that its all a lie like its real clear they never tested or completed this part of the game. They even was hoping to have a month left to patch this up in (hidden patch notes for sure).

Mythic never did say anything about the city siege that had problems. And ones again like this is a main point where most players was looking forward too its a big problem that maybe some players quit over.

Also a big problem is that level to max is way too much easy there are way too much players running around on max level after just a week and a half after the launch....

LOL. Way to overreact. There's really no comparison with AoC's sieges, which still are a failing borefest 5 months after release.

Interesting, though, to see the usual wowtrolls criticizing without the slightest idea of what happened.

It just happened that in that server some destro player nerded their way to tier 4 faster than the opposition, and managed to conquer tier 4 because there was no one opposing them. It's pretty normal, and it's a completely non-issue as soon as more people get up there.
Even because there are clear signals for when the fortresses are under attack or are about to be, meaning that, as soon as people are stably in tier 4, there will always be defenders, and anyone that ever played warhammer online knows very well how hard it is to take a defended keep.

The glitch that allowed the enemy to take the forstress easily is just a minor one that takes nothing to fix.

The city siege itself (which is a completely separate event from the fortress siege) shown no problems, and is actually very fun, so maybe people should try things instead of talking without having the slightest idea of what they're talking about.

The article itself clearly overexaggerates the problems, showing, in the end, as pretty misinformed. I'd get my facts straight before making completely skewed comparisons.

It's nice to be able to click on someone's name and view all of the other comments they've made on Massively. When you do so, you really start to figure out what angle they're coming from.

I agree, this is a big over reaction. I've been in a few keep sieges and they take forever even with a small 50v50 match. Once the leveling population balances out they will take a while.

@ Nadril
It's unfortunate to see how some people would find every little excuse to throw mud on the game. I see that as signs of panic, as their "doom and gloom" predictions proven false, and now they lack arguments, as the game is being fun and successful for many.

i cant help but see the irony in this and ill make the same statement that i made before. MMOs dont launch balanced and bug free. it just doesnt happen. Mythic has done a good job and i wish them and the WAR playerbase the best of luck, but i think at this point the AoC vs WAR arguement is an apples to oranges discussion. both have their up and downs, each is prefered by a diffrent style of player and both will have its trolls and haters.

This story is kinda funny, but I don't see how it can be viewed as indicative of how WAR endgame will play out. The game has only been out for 2 weeks and endgame requires large numbers of players for it to work properly, numbers that just aren't there yet. There seems to be some bugs when it comes to the keeps, but this shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. If Mythic has shown us anything it's that they fix things pretty quick and listen to the players. After only 2 weeks of live they have already released their first major patch, 1.01 with numerous bug fixes, UI improvements, animation updates etc etc. I have faith that Mythic will make sure that city sieges are running smoothly by the time a good number players are ready to experience it.

I say quit the dang QQ, I can promise you on my server if we Order would have seen Destro at ANY of the gates to our fortresses, it would've been all hands on deck for anyone lvl 20+. I dunno whats up with Order on that EU server, but they must be severely outmatched or just apathetic to the whole thing.
