Ironic.

I have been telling people the first, most likely issue they have with alleged "lag" is their own computer and not lag at all (lag being slang for unacceptable latency, if I recall correctly - but meh - we all know what it means LOL)

However, I usually get the typical lash-back "how dare you blame me and proclaim your Linden fandom!!!!

LOL.

Thank you Tateru. There is no doubt in my mind you carry far more street cred than I do, even though I've doner I.T. work since before it was called I. T. (1982.)

Another thing that can cause local lag, your PCs temperature. SL makes considerable demands on your hardware, which can warm up quite a bit. Sometimes to protect itself, the hardware will slow down. With my own laptop, if the room temperature gets warm, lag increases, and a friend of mine reduced his lag by fitting a second fan. So check your fans are clean and unobstructed, and consider adding another fan.

I read your article and find it a must for those who have lag issues,
I However, do not have lag issues ever, in the pond sim my machine runs at 86 fps or better, having upgraded/optimised my machine recently, lag is something other people have :-)
