Play Warhammer Online with an Xbox 360 controller

We're not entirely certain you'll actually want to control Warhammer Online with an Xbox 360 controller, but if you'd like to, Blue Orb has a free piece of software called SwitchBlade you'll want to check out. This doesn't really seem like the kind of game that would work well to a console controller, because by rank 9 in Warhammer Online you've got around ten abilities to map to your keyboard. Just try mapping all of that to a controller, let alone the myriad of others abilities you'll gain by the time you hit 40, the max rank. Call us skeptical, but we don't think there will be too many people interested in this thing, which is probably why it's free. Maybe Blue Orb should consider adding support for the keyboard attachment. If they did that, we'd seriously consider trying WAR with a controller.

I've tried Switchblade before, but I prefer Pinnacle. It's very customizable, has 'shift' buttons and will automatically fire up when you launch your game if you want it to. It also works with most game controllers, not just the X360 gamepad.

Though, I still don't see any comfort in playing MMOs with it unless the game mechanics are specifically built for it. But I think I just convinced myself to try it with Spore...

Playing a healer, especially a hybrid healer, would be nigh impossible. The idea would be nice for playing on an HDTV, but only if you're a tank. Have to go with the wireless keyboard/mouse combo.

Thanks, Lemmo, for pointing out Pinnacle. I too am a tried and true keyboard/mouse user for MMO games. I use a controller for most normal rpg/action games on the PC, but I think I'm going to give it a whirl with WAR.

Thanks for pointing out Pinnacle because I couldn't find a program that would allow me to use a normal logitech usb controller with the game. Now I have one! Thanks :)
