So, Tateru and Jacek are for...a committee of tekkies like themselves deciding everything by executive fiat, or letting private corporations decide everything with their geek teams, instead of an elected parliament or House of Representatives, through deliberation and debate.

Just so we're clear on that.

We aren't doomed whatsoever. It's good that the House is debating this law, which was already democratically debated when it was passed, and will go on debating it, as will the judicial system. That's what separation of powers and a democratic system under the rule of law is all about, children.

As we saw from their Imprudence manifesto, Jacek and pals would prefer that the paying customers of SL -- or by analogy in a country, the taxpayers who vote -- be gotten round, that the superior and privileged and enlightened geeks deliberately do an end run around them and decide for everybody since "they are progressive" and "representative democracy is backwords". So they are Bolsheviks, and it's important to recognize that.

Tateru seems to have a poor grasp again here of how precedent law works, and how two branches of government will work in tandem in a system we call "checks and balances," and once again seems to be favouring a magisterial system where, oh, groups of geek experts would also inform and consult with the State to create the proper rulings.

While I agree that congress should pass laws after considerable and through deliberation and debate, why did you turn your comment into a personal attack? Such a tactic just leaves me responding with a loud "FFS get over yourself!"

Jeeze Prok, you really have a bee in your bonnet about Jacek getting an office hours.

You have spammed SLDev and god knows where else.

Get over yourself and grow up.

It's not about "getting on office hours," although all of you should be concerned about what this means, as yet another institutionalization of the FIC. It's about the awful ideology involved in condemning the public will and saying it needs to be gone around. If you can't see it, I guess you're part of the problem, not part of the solution.
