It's expansion season in MMO-land. World of Warcraft will of course see the Wrath of the Lich King, which will add the continent of Northrend, a prestige class, and numerous enhancements. The Lord of the Rings Online will open up the Mines of Moria -- a massive dungeon environment for levels 50 and up. There will also be two new classes, and yes, numerous other enhancements.
Then there's EverQuest II's The Shadow Odyssey, EverQuest's Seeds of Destruction, and Asheron's Call's just-released 100th update. If you've got long-inactive accounts with any of these games, the devs are trying to win you back! If you're still there, they're trying to keep you from leaving for Warhammer Online or from freeing yourself from the genre completely.
Are any of these expansions going to do the job for you? And if so, which ones?

yes, it is kind of obvious how the release dates are set for the different expansions. Even the announced Hoth for SWG is going to arrive sooner than expected (supposedly). Why? To ensure the existing base remains.
Nothing really wrong with that in a way, sucks for those like me who are currently undecisive. Above all that are single player games as well - it's a busy fall, I think I need to take off from work....... Or get a life :P

Devs don't care about other people's games, if anything they want to make their own game as good as possible. Publishers and related functionaries.. well that's different.
Wish we'd be a less big-money business these days though, as the whole Christmas-like schedule will be presenting me with a bit of a dilemma. I'm going to have some serious time-management and monetary issues, as I want to see several of the titles you mention.
Probably WAR first as it's closest though, with WotLK shortly after. But one day I shall be coming for you mr Balrog and EQ hasn't seen the last of me either..

Mines of Moria for me!
I will definitely pick up WAR after the early bugs are worked out. I prefer to give a new MMO about 3-6 months to work out the snags before I buy in. That also prevents paying $50 for a lemon like AoC...

I wish I had taken Mythic's advice before I had bought AoC, biggest waste of 50 bucks in my life
