This is so true...

I know people that give the game one change. They buy it for the start, maybe play the full month and then stop and start whining about bugs...

If a single player game has one change, it is more reasonable. The game won't be developed more. They propably won't add new features. They might give it a couple of patches.

An MMO will improve, bugs will get sorted out, things are going to work. I don't understand, if someone is so much waiting for a game and then dispands it, why doesn't he want to see the game get on it's feets?

If you got a game that works perfect and you like it, stick with it! If you go for something new, there's always rocks on the road...

Oh.. and for everyone who says "400,000" is inaccurate.

That is the number that Funcom is reporting. (800,000 units sold with 400,000 active subscriptions)

I do not now how many of those 400K are actively playing, nor do I care. That is the number that Funcom is reporting to the public, and short of examining their traffic and counting through their DB of players myself, I have no way of proving otherwise...

Of course, neither do you, so I guess that makes us even, eh? Of course, if you could prove such a number was false, I'm sure there are investors and lawyers who would love to talk to you. Reporting false sales numbers in an earnings call is against the law in every legal jurisdiction of which I am aware.

So... is Funcom committing a major felony in order to impress you with their sales numbers? Or are they telling the truth?

Occam says "they're probably telling the truth in this case"
