I call BS on that first question. I played for many hours over the weekend, didn't see a flight master once.

That said, I really do love the PVP in this game, and am looking forward to its release.

"Is there an overpowered class?"

Im guessing by your response you didn't spend much time pvp'ing the the 31+ phase of beta hehe. There are two classes that were completely imbalanced, bright wizard and runepriest.
More specifically they had specialization lines that could make them damn near invincible. The dot line for the bright wizard did more damage than any healing class could possibly keep up with. The runey has so many "bubbles" and hots that it is simply impossible for less than 3 players combined to kill one. And the whole time the runey is doting and blasting you.
Mythic had already started addressing this it seems and I have no doubt it will be fixed before release, just fyi

Game seems interesting. I picked up a pre-order just so I could try the open Beta, but I don't see myself buying into this game too much. Reminds me of EQ1, tons of classes, and a few are bound to be lemons.

Balance, the bane of MMOs I guess. Good luck Mythic, I think you have a winner on your hands here!

There's a flight master at each warcamp for each area. The warcamps are always around the RvR sections in the zones. For the Dark Elves, I would get to it around level 9 or 10. It was easy to miss it completely if I was just doing PvE stuff 'cuz there aren't many PvE quests that direct you there. I would recommend to Mythic that they add in some to at least tempt the PvE players into trying some of the RvR stuff.

Having played a LOT of the Dark Elves, I have to say that not having a tank really sucked. In the PQs, either we would get an occasional Black Orc or Chosen to come over and join us (rarely) or the Disciple of Khaine had to heal tank the Champion (aka Elite) or Hero (aka Boss) class opponents.

DoK's could definitely do it thanks to the HoTs that they get, but it's not ideal. (ok, admittedly, since all your healing adds to your contribution for a Public Quest, you could really rack up some nice scores due to all the healing you throw on yourself) In fact, with 2 DoK's we could actually allow a Sorcerer to tank a Hero enemy. It was funny to see the Sorceror keep warning everyone that he didn't know how long he could last when the other DoK and I just laughed and kept throwing HoTs on him.

"Having played a LOT of the Dark Elves, I have to say that not having a tank really sucked"

In the last couple phases of beta I played a black orc (green IS the best!) and ran him to the darkie starting area's both times. The great thing is you get like 3 or 4 healers following you around the entire starting area lol.
It is REALLY difficult for new players to find the flight masters though. Even after playing in beta's for the last few months I still have a hard time of it when I play a new race for the first time. There should be a flight master in the first couple starting areas, especially for those playing with friends that roll other races so they can group up.

I have to agree with the assessment on the bright wizards. I was rarely in a RvR match that there weren't 3-5 of them in their spamming AoEs.

It's easily the single biggest mage class played that I saw through the beta, and having tried bright wizard, magus and sorcerer the damage output for the BW easily trumps the other two.

Combine this with the warrior priest who soaks a serious amount of damage as compared to the zealot or DoK and it's hard to say the class isn't a tad overpowered.

The flight masters aren't like in WoW - you won't come across them in every major area, and you won't use them in the same way. They're not so much a taxi service as they are a mechanic for getting you from zone to zone.

That's fine, I actually liked the distinction.

It would be nice to have some quests that direct you to the Warcamps though, much like every PQ seems to have a quest or two associated with them. You can't shake a stick without getting a quest to go into a PQ zone, but finding the Warcamps can be difficult until you notice the trick - just head to the big RvR zone on the map, there's sure to be a camp or two nearby. ;)

I did the same thing Dan did with my Chosen and it was pretty rewarding being one of maybe 3 or 4 tanks around. That's something I'm seriously considering come launch.

No problems finding the warcamps here. Just dropped dead in an RvR zone and poof. Warcamp. :)

Realizing there was actually a flight master there took a little longer. After hearing some beta player mention there actually -was- a flight master in the warcamp, it took a while of searching to find him.

WAR's doing a great job dropping cookie crumbs for all Bartle types. As an inveterate Explorer, I was thrilled to find the Lair of Silveroak and get the tome unlock. Nice aside from the clear-cut railroad of tiered increase most people seem to prefer.

Yeah, many times I thought of making up a new Chosen and just marching him all the way to the Dark Elf starting area. I just couldn't get into the flavor of Chaos for some reason, though. Maybe I'll have to try again in the Open Beta to see if it's worthwhile. I certainly know I always tried to group with the one or two tanks around in a PQ so I could heal them and keep their butts alive.
