It is a fun game, but I really resent the double charge thing. Either charge me monthly or have a item store, not both! God knows for the two months I spent playing bloodymare I far exceeded the 30bucks I would of paid for a sub game.

As CoX doesn't "officially" expand, I guess this is a shortened version of the usual track to introduce new things besides the content patching (which they do very well imo).

Since it's just "items" it feels kind of weird though, yeah. Kind of wonder how far they can take this expanding on itemization and missions route, though purely from a pseudo-scholarly perspective, as a gamer this is still one of the games with the best fun-a-minute quotient out there so yay! More stuff! For me!

Now where is my deathray booster pack?

Omg, he said "wild crack manatees". That's clearly the true story coming out of this. In fact, I'd like to start a petition to see that. It's be great in a mutated botanical gardens. =)

But the Super Booster thingy sounds like a nice easy to way to hand out in separate small bite sizes what would otherwise be a 40$ expansion. =)

The big difference between CoX's 'boosters' and free to play item stores is that, once you buy the items in CoX, they are yours forever for every character on your account. That and they are pretty much purely cosmetic.

Free to play games however, only 'rent' you items for a set period of time. Buy this outfit or this power for 15 or 30 days, after which time, if you want to use it again, you have to pay again. And they tend to be things like extra experience gains, mounts or other in-game tangible items. Basically, it's kind of like shareware. You can play the game for free, but if you want all the bells and whistles, you have to keep paying for them, one item at a time, over and over again.

BFD. It's only costume pieces. I don't understand people's gripes about it.

If it's THAT important to you, you have the option to buy them. If it's not that important, or you're broke, or you don't want to shell out $10 more, you don't get it.

And if you didn't get it, you didn't lose out on a single piece of content. There is not one thing that person w/out the "booster pack" can't do, that a person w/ the "booster pack" can. Content wise.

And I highly doubt the new "power" will be anything other then visual.

Same compalints came about the in-game adds. and you can turn them off if you want.

CoH Devs expand the revenue options for their profits, and they do it in a way to not ostrisize any players. You're not forced to buy shit, and you don't miss out on shit if you don't.

I've never bought the wedding pack, and my game play hasn't changed one bit.

My fiancée (oh, if only she knew how much I talk about her on here) is a costume fanatic in that game. I earned quite a few dude-points for buying her the wedding pack, and I'll probably buy her future packs because I'm cool like that.

So yeah, it's totally a preference thing. But I guess around our house, we don't have a PS3 or an XBox, we really just play CoH. So the cost balance is significant.

I think that the issues will be great, and the Booster I idea is cool. My only issue is that if this Booster think becomes a huge success that they only start to put the really cool costumes, auras and other stuff like that in buy only content. I understand that free sites allow you to rent there content that you have to pay monthly for but I'm already paying a monthly subscription. Every subscriber is paying $15 a month plus the money that they make on the adds that they now put in the game it's just crazy. You are honestly telling me that if the Wedding costume that they were selling would not have been successful NCSoft would have been hurting that much that they could not push the Epic Archtypes for villians. It sounds to me like they are saying if you don't buy this extra content you will not get good game content for the next issue. Something just smells fishy if you ask me.
