And having played both, I have to say that I find it to be the other way around. WAR, long-term, is going to thrive and grow, while WotLK will just continue to show more and more flaws that WoW has.

I guess this is why it's good we don't listen to whatever site wants to open it's mouth at any given time, because just look at the good reviews games like Age of Conan and Hellgate: London got. Ya, we can see where those are going.

Do you know what else AoC and Hellgate had? :)

They seem spot-on. The sad truth is that Blizzard could wrap Pac-Man in a World of Warcraft box and likely sell millions.

I'm not saying the expansion will do much to extend the lifetime of the game but you can't deny it will probably sell more copies than the next 9 games combined on the top-ten list.

I'm sure Warhammer will have a decent unveiling but whether they can deliver something different enough to keep the servers filled will be another question entirely.

The closed beta of WAR turned me into a fan. I can't wait to play it and although I will pick up the WoW expansion out of curiosity, I won't be lining up to buy it right away.

So, yes, WoW still gets my dollars but WAR has my heart. Who knows, after a month of WAR I might just cancel the WoW account. I am close, just not quite there yet.

For now, both developers win.

That article lost all credibility when they said the video game adaption of the movie Wanted has a good chance of success. That and predicting the chance of Warhammer as 'In question.' People are desperate for a WoW-killer, and Age of Conan has effectively lowered most people's standards.

Also, I must commend the blogger for taking up the perilous task of predicting chance of success of an expansion to the most popular MMO of all time.

It'll hit you on the way down Tas, no worries.

Extremely safe betting from Big Download on this one though. You know, out here in the real world.
