I also, just today, leveled to 12 a dwarf runemaster. The biggest difference is that I feel the Shaman can do more damage where as the runemaster can heal better. The runemaster's instants can keep me alive while kiting a player around. I often waste the time of 2-3 destruction players while the rest of the warband takes care of business.
Going back to the shaman. It is fun. you get into a groove of attack 5 things, heal 6 people, attack 6 times, heal 6 times. The reason you go 6 is that the first attack after heals makes a better attack, but then your next attack counts as one buildup to a powerful heal. I often just quickly instant-dot the enemy forces, then slam a big heal on whoever is weakest.
Oddly enough, the mirror to the runemaster (Zealot) and the mirror to the shaman I rarely see on the battlefield. Maybe it is the lack of "cool factor"? So right now there is a need on destruction for more Zealots.
Oddly lacking right now too, white lions. People say they love playing them, but you rarely see them around.
