Upon creating your High Elf you start the game in the outpost of Moonrise on the Blighted Isle. You'll have some basic abilities/spells already slotted in your hotbar. There is only one quest giver in the outpost, Silvshara Greywind. She gives a kill quest for six Dark Sprites in the forest, then five Dark Elf Infiltrators.
After completing the kill quests, your High Elf will be level two and be able to train in a new spell/ability by talking to the NPC with the bullseye over their head. If you don't have enough cash, you can kill a few more Dark Elves in the forest for coin and loot you can sell to the vendor.
Your next quest sends you to the quest hub in Calumel to the southeast. On the way there, you'll find an Elf who will give you the quest to shoot Harpies with the Eagle Claw Bolt Thrower next to him. This uses none of your spells/abilities, but puts you in shooter mode where you take control of the launcher and aim the crosshairs at the Harpies. This is just training for RvR use of harpoons and other siege equipment later in the game. But don't pass this up as it's easy exp and he will send you on to the same place you were heading anyway.
Prince Eldiron and the Shining Guard
When you get to Calumel, you meet Prince Eldrion of the Shining Guard, sent by the Phoenix King himself to combat the local menace. Here you will complete two quests and give you three more. There is also a trainer and merchant at this hub along with another quest giver who queues you up for the first instanced RvR battle. Prince Eldrion wants you to kill Arkaneth Harpies and Arkaneth Witch Elves in the ruins south and east of him as well as rescue an injured High Elf. This is a good place to try out your new level two spell/ability and will net you level three by the time you are done here.
Train your level three spell/ability and head to the next quest hub to the south, Azurewood. Here you are given the tasks of checking in with the Keenbow Scouts spying on the nearby Arkaneth Dark Elves who are invading from the coast from the Black Arks and hunting down the dinosaurs those Dark Elves set loose in the Thanalorn Forest to terrorize the locals. After completing those the real fun begins. You are sent over the hill to check in with a band of High Elf brothers who are single handedly fighting off the Dark Elf invasion. You find them outnumbered three to one with only your help to rely on. Dispatch the enemies, talk to the High Elf you saved and then get ready for your first PQ.
House Arkaneth - The First High Elf Public Quest
Head up the stairs from where you find the brothers and you will get a message showing you the progress of the fight against the invading forces. Stage 1 demands that everyone in the area slays 30 of the guards. Once that is done, Stage 2 starts and waves of invading forces pour out of the docks each with a named commander. When those forces are defeated, the final Stage commences. Scornlash, an enormous Hydra-like beast, and Beastmaster Lorkoth charge in.
If there are enough people there, the two will fall quickly. If there is only a single group, you'll most likely have to kite Scornlash. The Beastmaster is easy to take down either way. Once all three stages are completed, rankings of all the players involved are listed based on participation. Then each player has a random roll and the top three get to loot a chest that spawns near the dead Scornlash. Everyone else gets Influence for every kill which can be redeemed for loot from Captain Tolorith in Azurewood. The Public Quest resets in a minute and you can try again if you'd like.

The Final Run To Level Five
At this point, your High Elf is at or near level four. Additional quests in the area include scouting the dinosaur forest for ore, setting off a barrel of explosives near a Dark Elf building at the harbor and heading down into the depths of a Dark Elf controlled building to active four scrolls to reveal a hidden High Elf power source and reclaim it for your people.
Those will take you to level five. There are one or two more quests in the chains started out of Azurewood and then you're sent further south for new adventures.
Overall, the mobs are easy to solo, even taking on two at a time won't be difficult. Mostly it's kill ten rats and move on to the next quest hub. The interesting parts are the Public Quest system and the amount of lore that can be explored via the Tome of Knowledge that appear as quests progress and you head into new areas. It will be interesting to see how the story of the invading Arkaneth Dark Elves unfolds in the next five levels.
