What always upsets me as a programmer is that a game like this shutting down represents a massive waste of art assets. The game looks visually quite good and I'm sure a lot of money was spent developing the game engine and art assets.

A small game development team could reappropriate those assets for use in a completely new game project without risking the kind of cash Auran did. But I guarantee you Auran will just sit on that intellectual property until it's worthless because they spent good money on it. The assets will probably never be used again and it's a damn shame.
