I'm using Leopard, so instead of Mac Ace Updater, I'm much more partial to WoWAceUpdater for Mac OS X found at http://www.lsmason.com/software/wowaceupdater/ and linked off the original WoW Ace Updater for Windows page. It has many of the features you you mentioned that Mac Ace Updater lacks. Personally, I use WoWMatrix to update, then follow it with WoWAceUpdater. Seems to pretty much catch all the updates I need. I just wish there was a way to update Mob Map on a Mac.

They also have a nice Mac oriented client that does much of what you want. The only real problem is a limited subset of add-ons are supported... If there were a way to wrap any add-on into this app, it would be perfect...
