The mount thing? That's good. Yeah, it could be upsetting to people who spent so much on it, but give it 2 weeks, and that 1 gold 25 silver won't mean that much to them.

As for the totem thing, yeah, thats a bad idea. I didn't pre-order, but I respect that that is one of the things people preordered the game for. Yes, they perordered for only $5, and I doubt that the Totem was really thier chief reason for doing so, but it was labled as exclusive. In my book, that means it should remain exclusive. It's not like its a game breaker, even though the time saved may add up to quite alot over time. But honestly, when you find a good place to hunt that's way closer to another city or town, that trinkit would lose alot of value. Aisde from the occational long ride and a way to show off, it means very little. All the same, it really should not be made to everyone.

Actually the totem was not a pre-order. Any yahoo who went to walmart and bought the pc gamer mag got the code for it. I imagine the ones who are most upset are the ones who bought many copies of the mag to sell the codes on ebay.

Funcoms official line (as per my first hand experiance and a letter after 12 submission) is this.

Funcom will not reimburse any gold for items bought or sold. Item prices will ocassionaly be raised or lowered as needed. no monies will be returned.

the exact letter was a bit more than 7 lines but stated the same thing. another reason i felt was a gamebreaker, as hard as gold is to get.

now, back to WH beta. :)

The totem change's a good thing for people outside the US who weren't willing to get their hands on an import copy of PC gamer. There's at least a conceivable chance of obtaining one in-game now.

Aye, in two weeks, people could level past 60 and realize earning 2 gold wasn't the impossible task it seemed at lvl 40.

Still, slash the mount prices, it's great news. Now I can buy two colors of horseflesh for the price of one if I wanted. 75s is a more achievable price at the level you can obtain a basic mount. Now if only they would do something about the 50g and 150g for armored and swift mounts...

As for the grey xp, I'm scared to talk about it now. Seems everytime I write a comment in regards to it, something changes in the patch notes that will totally contradict what I mumble about it.

Pricing for architecture vendor items has been getting steadily lower as well.

Which is fine if you've waited to build your guild city. But is essentially a punishment for those that were the first to build.

As a t3 architect, I wish I had just held on to my gold instead of training up.

Failcom did the same thing with the drinking cape, which they gave away to everyone getting the newsletter. Failcom basically continues to lie to players constantly.

Hmm, I suppose I misread. I was under the impression that it was a pre-order thing. If it was recived by buying a magazine, I can understand putting it in a drop table in game, even if it is rather rare. I may have to dig thru my archives of PC Gamers to se if I can find the one with the code. For some reason I have a subscription to them, despite the only thing I pay to much atention to is the the back article by Yahtzee Croshaw, of 'No Punctuation' fame.

As for the horse thing, I stand by my opinion. Gold IS hard to get, yes, but give a little while and your wallets wounds will heal and it will make for a better game overall.
