Though Steve Long is a current co-owner of Hero Games (more accurately, DOJ or "Defenders of Justice"), and he's the guiding light and creative powerhouse for the tabletop Champions game -- and also, I'm flattered to say, he's a friend of mine -- he's not technically the "creator" of Hero Games or Champions. The founders of Hero Games and the original designers of Champions, way back in 1980, were Steve Peterson, George Mac Donald, and Ray Greer.

I'm a long-time (but off-and-on) Champions player and would love to be able to use the same character in an MMOG and a Tabletop (TT) or a Virtual Tabletop (VTT) game. The actual combat mechanics would not matter as much as the "flavor" of the character but we can do that today with CoX. If, however, the character's stats (like strength, physical defense, etc.), skills and powers (energy blast, force field, etc.) were the same (or reasonably close) that would be incredible.

Dungeons and Dragons Online (DDO) does a good job at interpreting the rules of turn-based TT RPG in a real-time game and I am hoping Champions Online can do it even better. Having some off-line components like a character creator/visualizer and ability to print character sheets would put it over the top.
