Music is one of the most important and most often overlooked components of an MMO... so many times the developers get a big "theme" done for their initial release, then they never go back and add with expansions. Blizzard really fell down on the job with Burning Crusade, re-using a lot of old music and, in many areas, not using any music at all. (Think about how much creepier your first few forays into Karazhan would have been with appropriate music and sound effects!)

I chalked it up to the fact that BC was obviously unfinished when it was released. But I'm still mystified about why it took 2 years to release an unfinished expansion. And for the entire 15 months I played in Outlands it was still jarring to hear the AQ theme music played in Outlands instances - that music fit AQ perfectly but not Serpentshrine.

Music in the Bourne movie was well done, I remember commenting on it at the time - it's nice to see a gaming company using talented composers and going for good stuff!
