On the way out my ass. More like on the way in. As gaming continues to become more popular, people won't be so taken back by the thought of spending larger amounts of time playing them.

The article was specifically talking about console and "normal" games, too, *not* MMO's which come ingrained with time sinks. And within that context, he has a point. I've lost count of how many "normal" games over the years I never finished because they were just too long and I lost interest.

I'd rather have 10 hours of Bioshock or Portal where I'm constantly being treated to an experience and can freely talk about them rather than 100 hours of a Final Fantasy game where less than 10 hours of it all are worthy of remembering.

I'd rather pay 30 dollars every month for a single game which keeps me interested and involved than shell out 40-60 dollars every week or two for a new game.
