The problem is that MMOs (as most geek pasttimes) are foreign to the average person. They can understand watching TV for 5 hours in a row - everyone has TV shows they like. They can understand spending 12 hours a day watching sports and playing fantasy sports - they've seen sports.

But this gaming thing is a bit odd to them.

In time, it will pass, and become just another thing people do. Although I'd really like to see a "Football addiction" entry in the journals for people. I think we all know someone that has routinely ignored family and friends because "the game's on" eh?
