Um. silverlight isn't something special, and more likely it will add new security holes to your system for hackers to attack. Are you feeling ok today?

Well, let's look at the facts. Flash is a closed source application with varying support on different platforms, specifically, Linux. Silverlight has an open source implementation on Linux called Mono. Flash - closed source. Mono - open source. As a Linux user, I tend to prefer the free and open source implementations -- even if they are from Microsoft.

I only use Windows to play games :P

Ahh, that explains it better.

As for me, I'm extremely wary about any new web tool microsoft creates. If silverlight is any sort of mediocre success we will probably see it in Windows 7. Integrated into the OS. Without an uninstall process. Its happened before and windows users have suffered for it with Internet Explorer.

As a Linux user I never trust Microsoft. Sliverlight is just another attempt to own the web.
