I'm not sure it's completely valid, with the mailing lists, and open discussion about things, there is a lot of transparency (a la the conversation 'name an organization who's as open as Linden Lab'), but the real question is what happens if Linden Lab was too transparent. We already see the flood of comments and 'discussion' concerning some of the moves they make, imagine that was opened just a bit wider, could Linden Lab really survive that? More importantly does that help the growth of the platform?

Could there be more transparency or a better way of doing it, sure, that's always the case. But is it smart to open the door that much wider? I'm not sure.
