Keen and Graev's AoC podcast makes its first transmission

Sorry, but that has to be one of the worst blogs I have ever listened to. I don't want to insult them too much but, less gaming and more education goes a long way in life. :)

I listened to some of their open beta stuff since they were making class review videos. There came a point where it didn't matter if they had information...I just couldn't handle their ignorance anymore. It's like two guys decided to make a blog about astronomy without knowing anything about the subject only to have actually astronomers undress them over and over in comments.

There are some very smart people out there who have the experience and the creativity it takes to distill information and attack subjects from an angle that I would have never envisioned. Keen and Graev are not those people. They grabbed some string and tied their star to Age of Conan...a lot of us are looking for scissors.

Yeah I agree these guys need to wake up and realize their shit does stink.

Next time Massively suggests a podcast I'll know to take it with a grain of salt. I mean I'll give these kids credit for trying (I'm guessing they're 14 or 15?) but really, it's so bad it was pretty funny.

Kid 1: So now let's talk about Tortage. Kid 2, what did you think about Tortage.
Kid 2: It was pretty cool I guess.
*awkward pause*
Kid 1: Well what did you think about the quest?
Kid 2: The quests were ok. Like, I guess they were like pretty cool.
*awkward pause*
Kid 1: Well let's talk about classes. You're playing a Guardian right?
Kid 2: I'm playing...um. Yeah, a guardian.
Kid 1: What do you think of it so far?
Kid 2: I like it, it's pretty cool I guess.
*awkward pause*
Kid 1: (apparently giving up on getting any help from his friend). I like the quests a lot. I don't really play MMOs for the storyline but this one was good. Wait, I take that back, there's too many quests where, like, you talk to this guy
Kid 2: (interupts) We found a good grind spot.
Kid 1: The bears?
Kid 2: Yeah, north of that place where, like, we had to go kill 50 badgers for teeth. Those are like, I dunno, I like don't like those. But grind spots are pretty cool.
Kid 1: Yeah I hate the quests where I have to kill lots of things. I just want to adventure and hunt and kill lots of things.
Kid 2: What was the name of that place?
Kid 1: What place?
Kid 2: Where, like, the good grind bears were north of
Kid 1: Was it north I thought it was like south...

Anyway, I could go on all day with this. It got to be pretty funny.

And I'm sorry to rag on these guys, they're just having fun and more power to them.

But Massively, c'mon, use a little discretion. Don't throw away your credibility sending us to stuff like this. I took the time to subscribe to the feed, do a fresh download pass in iTunes and re-sync my iPod before heading home so I could listen to this, and it was really not worth the effort.
