Good summary. I thought you gave a fair shake to each of the major MMOs out there.

Even though SWG gets smashed by people, It's missing from the list.

Good list! SWG doesn't belong on any list, it's trash.

Oh, and interesting placement of Hello Kitty Online O.o

And for those of us who want a non-PvP space-based MMOG?

Sit around and wait for Jumpgate: Evolution or Stargate Worlds. Hope one of them at least got it right.

You seem to be missing out on Lunia and Aeronauts.
Cutesy, yes, but Lunia is a fun arcade action MMORPG, and quite honest fun, and Aeronauts is an action MMO with fast and furious dogfights mixed with anime elements. Both are easy to learn and real fun, the communities are friendly, too.

If your computer is old and you don't have alot of money to spend, RuneScape is a viable alternative. Is it the best game on the market? No, of course not. But for those who just can't afford the upgrade or the monthly fee, it's not a bad choice.

While you had LOTRO early on in the article, you left it out later on.

Its the most overlooked game by players IMO. Critics love the game, continuously not just the first month. Sadly its heaped with WoW everywhere, even your early mentions of it seem to just lump it together with WoW.

So who would like LOTRO?

People that want story. Its story blows away the casual mentions of a plot in games like Conan and WoW. The story is updated roughly every 2 months with scripted events and huge quests. And no, you don't just follow the fellowship, you get your own epic tale.

So if you want to get your toes wet, and you're used to single player RPG's, give LOTRO a try.
