I might be mistaken with this, but I think weaving songs as a bard in EQ1 was considered an exploit at first, but it made the class so much more fun to play that they left it in. I know that's the only reason I enjoyed playing a bard.

I don't think every time a player comes up with an unexpected play method it's necessarily an exploit. I assume that when the CoH developers made powers that blew guys into walls, that we'd have players who would mash them into corners and beat them senseless.

Personally, I'd like to see more of this. That's what combat is about, gaining an advantage and using it to succeed. Now, I'm not condoning PvP exploitation, I think competitions should be on a level and fair playing field (not necessarily even, just "fair"). But for PvE, who cares if we find some great ways to KILL SKULS?

Bard song weaving is another great example of an unintended use of game mechanics turning into something that ends up being a blast. The unique and unexpected ways of playing a game are often the most interesting.
