great write up crovan baby ;)

i find most enjoyable is when roaming or campping the FC allows every1 to chatter away. But it is a understanded rule that if intel is coming in or orders are goin out let the person speak.

There is actually a fantastic thing that lets the FC mute the channel other than himself, this allows chatter and vital intel without hindrance.

Another Super Important aspect of EvE and any communication is to know the lingo, old players use an insane percentage of acronyms and slang and new players are often left out. In this case either read a forum on the subject or just ask, I have seen different lingo between two corps in the same alliance which can cause some minor issues.

Im not sure if massively has done a post on it but i think the slang in MMOs characterizes the game well and adds a completely player owned historical context to the game.

For acronyms you can see a partial list here. It's far from complete but it's a start!

Great article Crovan!
