Well this might get some of the players who still play to stick around, I doubt that this will get any new users to come in.

While I loved Ragnarok Online for many years, the fact that it is very Korean in its influence (read: ENDLESS GRINDING) led to me stop playing it. Content updates did help a lot as it went along, but they were too spaced out to keep a lot around. The PvP was only at set and stable times, and in specific places. Sure as an outsider you could wander in and participate, but the PVP was largely held down by large "Alliances" of elite guilds.

Now that they have a cash-for-items store, along with now lower prices for the europeans (why not the international/US servers?) it may compel a lot of people to stick around.

It was a very charming game. 2D cartoonish sprites based on job, with customizable headgear (and other gear, but only visual change was from headgear) on 3D terrained land/dungeon maps with more 2D monsters (and occasional 3D) to fight in groups or solo. "Ascended" classes for a restart with an even harder XP grind for those who were really dedicated, and then later some new alternate classes for those who were less.

It was a good game in the day, but failed to progress forward with the times. Its "sequel" MMO has been in development for years, and had its closed alphas and betas years ago, yet it seems it never saw the light of day. Even in Korea.

Oh well, here hopes it survives for another good number of years (and here is hoping its inflation and bot problems go down too)
