This is so incredibly true.

I have always said that business in the virtual world must mirror the real world - same rules apply except one: there are no mass media 'hubs' to focus on. No central locations where to focus your message to a particular demographic.

So that is the one adjustment one has to make: a blanket campaign to get the word out as much as possible, and since you are not able to focus through a conduit into a particular customer demographic (for example a particular magazine that caters to a specific crowd) - you have to make yours stand out from all the others.

Not an easy thing to do.
