the acess to parcels restricted to age verified accounts is handled by the client? does this means that, with a modified client one can enter such parcels without actually having one's account age verified? 0.0

That seems to be what it is suggesting, though sometimes a changelog entry from the server side creeps into the viewer notes - so it is possible that it doesn't mean that.

Linden Lab confirms that this was a server-side software change that appeared in the viewer changelogs by accident.
