What about the plan that throttling would be based on paid users vs. free accounts?

It's never been used even once, to our knowledge. Maybe it doesn't work or they've forgotten about it -- or the back-end has changed too much for the original code to work with what's there now.

That's what I thought, thanks for confirming, Tateru.

I feel mildly grumpy about this; they implied 'avoid throttling' as one of the two benefits of paying LL money for the account (the other being tech support), and then when they decide to throttle, they don't follow their announced plans.

I fear this is one of the last straws for me; when even "logging in" becomes an optional feature, it's time to pack up, sell of my estates at a loss, and leave. I wonder whether I'm just grumpier than most or whether the continued outages will lead to an erosion of the user base.
