I keep every opened bag in the fridge, otherwise the mice get 'em.. I have a cat, but she doesn't catch them instantly!

Great article. The thing I've found online is that the strange people are usually the most honest and friendly. Its the normal people you have to watch out for. They are in my experience 100% crafty mean liars.

Ghen-

You may have the *only* cat that doesn't catch bags, then. Indeed, a rare sub-species! Mine are avid hunters of both Grocerius plasticaa and Cardboard cartonenii - invariably, at three twenty in the morning, they subdue their prey with extreme vigor.

The freedom of the degree of anonymity MMOs offer many folks the comfort to be a little bit goofier than they are in everyday interaction; even just a slight lowering of the day-to-day social guard offers up a lot of great returns.

na I ment the cat doesn't catch the mice instantly. It happens every 2-3 months or so that I find her new playtoy laying around heh.

Being an old fart, I generally feel I'm necessarily the odd one in any PUG, hell, even in the guild I joined. There's something about having a 20-year age difference that does strange things to the interpersonal dynamic. In the middle of a dungeon or hacking through mobs for a quest it doesn't matter that much, except that I'm the one behind the times. I "don't have a mic" (read: prefer to not use one) so I lose out on the voice conversations. I'm adroit enough to tank and occasionally lay about with extreme prejudice, but not to run and type at the same time. On the other hand, I'm also the guild curmudgeon, so the younguns allow for my occasional cluelessness as long as I keep 'em entertained with jaundiced humor (and wreak as much havoc as a gleefully pissed off lvl 50 dual-axe wielding warrior can when called upon).

Hell, if not for giving the odd players a chance I'd still be soloing my way through the 30s ;)

I discriminate against players who don't have mics :P Do you have fear of some other kind of social retaliation if you spoke?

No fear of retaliation. Partly it's that hearing people who just don't sound like their toons shatters the illusion for me. Partly it's just that I usually prefer to have music blaring \../
