If it wasn't for how deep into SL I already am, and all the friends I have there and the person I'm deeply in love with being there... I'd leave SL in a hearbeat. This crap is so annoying. It's like every 5mins in SL, *something* is going wrong... textures not loading... attachments not attaching... lagging chats... lagging *insert anything*... I can't even INSTALL the client without seeing at least ONE error. I can't think of a single element of SL that works without some kind of problems!

It's no wonder that SL isn't getting that many new users, with all the crap that goes on with SL. With all this crashing, bugs, lagging.. the only people in SL soon are gonna be long time players that have too many friends in SL to leave, like me. How can new players come and enjoy SL when it's like this? People like me will try again tomorrow, new players will just uninstall and never try again.

LL FIX THIS DAMMIT!

Well, the two are unrelated in this case, or so Linden Lab says.

Last night I downloaded the new Linux 19.1.5 client and was on for about 2 minutes before SL crashed. I tried several times to log in but to no avail.

This morning I fired up the new client and was immediately presented with a "your PC isn't powerful enough to run SL"
My laptop is a 3 year old Gateway m675prr with 17" LCD, 2 GB RAM and a 3.0 GHz processor. The video chip is an ATI 9600 that gives me 2,700 FPS. But, this laptop is not powerful enough? Ya, I know, SL 'thinks' the ATI chip is too old for SL but before I was thrown out my SL FPS was fine.

I paid for a year's subscription but I doubt if I'll get my money's worth.

I was running an ATI 9600 myself until recently (though the rest of my specs were considerably weaker). You may want to temporarily stick with the 1.19.0 release.

Looking at the specs, it would seem that you meet the minimum requirements as posted by LL: http://secondlife.com/corporate/sysreqs.php
