I appreciate this kind of discussion as far as finding new ways to describe what makes an MMO an MMO. I think defining an MMO as something like WoW or EQ really limits the scope of what can be done with massive, persistent online game/virtual spaces. The GDC presentation given by Realtime Worlds on APB was a great example, and so are games like Club Penguin.
