Pity it is such a pain to compile on the Mac. Now if they added a precompiled llMozLib2 into the Mac Library tarball (as they used to with llMozLib) everyone could happily compile up 1.19.1 and not have to worry about debugging a bazillion things with llMozLib2.

I don't understand why everyone thinks the process would stop with Cory's departure. Back in 2006, during the week leading up to SLCC 2, I had the opportunity to speak with Philip. During our conversation, he shared that it had been Linden Lab's hope to announce the open sourcing of the viewer code, but that it just wasn't quite ready. Instead, they showed us the video from the 2001 "terraforming by grenade" Linden World. He seemed really excited about the possibilities back then, and has always publicly expressed the idea that residents are partners in this project rather than customers (which some would argue is an attitude that leads to bad customer service, heh). I think Philip is quite supportive of LL's open source efforts. LL has been a user of open source products (Linux, cURL, SSH, MySQL, the list could go on for pages) and contributor to several as a company; clearly it was more than just Cory's vision.

Regards,

-Flip
