" why should hardcore gamers playing World of Warcraft/Lord of the Rings Online/etc. care? Because we're having children of our own and we want to share our passion for gaming with them."

Indeed. My daughter has quickly moved from WebKinz to Pokemon which, while maybe not a HUGE jump, tells me that it won't be long before she's looking at the MMOs I play and will want one of her own. At 7 years old, however, she's still not at the age where she can get into some of the existing offerings. I'd be more then happy to see MMOs designed for the younger set, even if they are offered by Disney.

Indeed, I have tried POTCO and i think its pretty cool. I even plunked down some money. I was surprised to see an actual real mmo. Its nice to see and the sea combat is pretty fun. Its not really deep but its plain fun. Thats all I can ask even if I am supposedly too old to be playing it. heh

Kid's MMO's are going to do nothing but grow and grow.

And why not? Kids watch their parents play their MMO's, and of course naturally they want to play as well. It's also a fun and normally pretty cheap way to spend time together.

We even have launched a website devoted just to kids MMO's. Its for kids to come and check stuff out and for their parents too. Come check us out sometime! =)
