What burns me out most is how far behind I am if I take a month break from the game. A month of Kara raiding is 80 badges a few peices of gear, some enchants, lots of gems, and some crafted gear. And thats just Kara.

I want to see all of SSC, TK, BT, Hyjal, and Sunwell, and I will have the time to commit to hardcore raiding before the release of Wrath. But the question is, will I have time to catch up gear wise to see it? This is what really gets me.

So, more than likely I will wait for Wrath to come out and start the cycle all over again. I loved 60-70 on my first character, and I will love 70-80. I will do all the attunements for the first few raids, Naxx and such, I will probobly clear Naxx and most of the t7 content, but I will burn out, fall behind, and never see the t8 ant t9 content.

My best times in wow so far is hitting 70 early, getting my epic flyer, and hitting kara in one of the first guilds to do so. Killing attumen, moroes, and maiden for the first time. It was just a blast.

If there was 1 thing I could change about those first few months, was that I would have geared my priest to be shadow instead of Holy, and lvled him up first before my mage. Who knew that shadow priests would be so in demand? I am definatley getting my priest to 80 first, as shadow.

I stopped raiding after TBC, and then retired completely after running 5-man until they got boring. I quit because organizing a heroic pug could take an hour or more and, in the end, would more-often-than-not...suck.

Back then there was really no solid way to improve your character, beyond a point, with 5-man content. Badge loot has certainly improved since then, but there is also the problem of no new 5-man content since TBC release! 2.4 will finally change that but too little too late.

I wasn't interested in PvP. Having played many FPS, the idea of gear-dependent competition and class imbalances made this idea completely unappealing. I switched to TF2 and could be playing within 5 minutes of sitting in front of my computer, play for 45 minutes and then stop. Compared with logging into WoW at 7pm with no plan and, on some nights, logging out hours later in frustration of not being able to get a group together.

Remembering these moments, I wouldn't come back to WoW unless it was with a group of 4+ other friends and a fixed schedule to play.

I canceled my account last night.

I had been contemplating leaving for some time now simply because the game was not fun to me anymore. The only thing that has kept me playing the last couple months was the camaraderie within my guild. It got to the point where I was cringing at even the thought of logging in. The change to Life Tap on the PTR's was the "final straw" so to speak.

So, yesterday, I tendered my resignation as my guilds Warlock Class Leader and canceled my account.

My "reason for quitting" I typed out as canceling my account:

"2.4 Life Tap change on PTR's

The very fact that it has been considered at all tells me that:

Either someone on the Dev Team has a vendetta against the Warlock class, or the Dev Team, as a whole, is completely clueless about the class.

I have threatened quitting in the past, but this time I have gone so far as to step down as the class leader in my guild.

This time, I am gone until either a thorough work over for the class is done and/or Tom "Kalgan" Chilton is fired from the Dev Team."

Not that they actually read those, but meh.

I am just excited to get back to trying out/finishing the many games I have missed out on the past couple years due to a lack of time from both raiding and having some semblance of a social life.

i got out of WoW because of the community. I have always been a big forum poster on whatever game i play but all of the complaining and whining people do on the WoW forums really got me out. not to mention i got banned from them.

Hahaha! I find it hilarious that you've quit over the recent changes to the Warlock class.

reasons being that it was plainly obvious for all to see that more changes are to come to balance out the obvious mana problems you guys will have if that is the only change.

Just for the record, they have said that more changes are coming to warlocks in future PTR patches.

And finally, PTR patch-notes are just that... patches for the PTR!

Just because it's on the PTR, doesn't mean that it will make it to the official client patch.

i played a priest to 60 when WoW first came out, got a few of the set pieces, then quit in frstration at the time requirements. this was back when priest were practically the only viable healing class, so once i was in a group, i was really stuck no matter what. also i was sick of the PM invites the second i logged on just to check my mail. did a announce in IF once day and gave away all my gold to the first 10 lowbies that replied.

i couldn't believe how much time quitting WoW freed up in my life. went out on dates, read a ton of books, met a girl, fell in love, got married, moved into my first house.

two years later, i had the itching to play it again. i wanted to see the new gear, instances , etc of TBC. so now i've got a level 57 mage, and for the most part, i'm having fun. i'm in a smallish guild and no one pressures me to commit 3 hours of my life (which i don't have most nights, now that i'm married).

i think Blizzard is truly doing the best they can. when u think about it, of course they can't satisfy the hard core "in Mom's basement" power guys AND the "only play a couple hours a week" people. but really, there's something for everyone.

i don't blame people for quitting. if you hit a wall, you hit a wall, you don't have to convince yourself to stay! go out, have relationships w/ real people, learn how to socialize IRL, etc etc. and for god's sake, try not to be jealous of the guy with all purple uber gear. just remember how many hours he toiled to get that and ask yourself is he really any happier than you?

The better question is when I will be coming BACK to wow.

When they balance shaman with the other classes in pvp. Haha.

OR when DeathOPKnights come out. I want to be one of the 10 million DKs and enjoy the OPness of their beloved class. You always wonder, which class do the devs care about/play the most. It was shaman, pre-bc. Then it was locks, followed by huntards and druids.

There won't be a question when lich king comes out. You're either fighting upstream or winning via rolling your face across the keyboard with your DK.

I quit about a year ago. Deleted all my characters, uninstalled the game, and threw the CDs out.

The game felt like a chore. Endless time spent raiding for the possibility to get a piece of gear that MIGHT drop? My time would be better spent watching paint dry. At least, it'd be more satisfying. Combine that with the sub-standard, cartoonish graphics and you've got, in my eyes, the worst game out there.

I actually pity people who still play.

There is NOTHING out there that could make me go back to the cesspool that is WoW.

i have been playing since 3rd of january 2006. i played all the time till TBC. then i barly played. still playing. then around june. i quit after getting 2 lvl 70s. and cleared kara.
i just found out that it was just the same skills. the same tatics. just the same dull shit.
then a few months later i played again.
not for long. only a few months. got bored of the grind. the hassle. the annoyance when some shit dont drop. then when it does. the fucking hunter gets it. because heee thinks that hunters wear leather!!1!111!1eleven!1222!111!!!1one!11@11!two!1
then u try grinding so u can get that fucking mount. then u do. yay but for some reason u dont like it. so u try getting the other 1. but u hate that. and u just stick with your normal flying epic mount.
then i started again (a few days ago)
on a 55hunter. so i started to lvl it. got it from 58-60 and a half today. YAY
but then as i was doing the quests. realised it took hours to lvl. finding out that yay i did that quest that the guide tells me to. OH YAY i gutta do some more shity quests that has no appeal. and is probly going to get me ganked by a lvl 70 ally. or i will get killed. ress. get killed. waste some time. get to 70. (After a boring struggle) start to do some instancces. get some shit. grind a wee bit. then find out that i gutta do it again. since i dont have "the best" shit. then the fucking hunter nicks my shit some more altho i am a hunter myself. but because he is a ally reject he thinks he shud own 2 of every item.
then after just siting in shat waiting for WoTLK, i get the fucking thing yay =D
more llving. more grinding. more obsoliete gear like Normal wow - TBC. yay so all them hours i just spent in TBC is POOOINNTTTLESS in WoTLK. ye it may be helpful till lvl 76. but was it worth it? NO! then it will be more grinding. more fucking hunters nicking my fucking items. more fucking grinding. more realising that i need to carry on if i want to be the best. more addons. more problems with the thing. more hassle getting a guild. more fucking hunters nicking me items. more fucking professions. and just so on. its just a long boring grind that makes u feel that once u got the best shit. it will be fun. BUT IT WONT the fun is getting the boring shit and showing off taht u just wasted days getting an item that will be usesless in the next patch.

FUCK U BLIZZ MAKE A GOOD MMO THAT IS ALWAYS GOOD!!! i mean look at WC3 its 1game with no subscription. very cheep to make. and ITS MY FAV GAME. why? because custom maps always make it new. its always something differnt every time u play. u join a game not knowing WTF it is. but its nice to experiment and find a game that rly rox your sox then play it over and over. then when u get bored. find anouther.
plx blizz. make a new RTS warcraft. cuz WC3 is getting dated. but the maps are SOOOOO CEWL!
