It's kind of weird that you have to buy the toys AND play a monthly fee. Little kids can't pay monthly fees and aren't going to have an easy time explaining to their parents why they have to keep paying for something they already bought.

That said, for us adults who have been wondering why there's not Pokemon MMO, this looks awesome!

For this type of play, the monthly fee is lame. There is no persistent world to maintain, just ladder stats. If they needed funds to support that, then they should consider advertising.

There is no way I would go out and buy multiple toy purchases only to pay $5+ more a month to use them when I can purchase Unreal, Quake, Halo, etc... and play for free.

I love MMOs, and I never mind paying a fee for the upkeep and growth of a virtual environment, but not for a 1 on 1 arena style battle.

I think that's a pretty sweet monthly fee. I mean, there's great graphic, extreme settings...even the title is appealing. I think it's a nice integration of the Nintendo 64-esque character brawls and the interactive versatility of World of Warcraft. It's kick ass without being sadistic and fun without being juvenile. I can't wait to play.

Atually this is a very shrewd move on the creators part as it will allow them to be in 2 places at retail, the toy shelf and the game shelf. Bravo!
