For what it's worth, while TR is light in the in-game lore department, I have never seen an MMO more supportive of PLAYER-driven lore before. Considering the amount of space they set aside on their own website for hosting and highlighting player-written pieces (such as the Soul of a Soldier feature or that episodic fanfic they recently featured) and their avid support of player-created in-game events, perhaps they are hoping players will create their own lore for the world of the game. A lofty goal, to be sure, but I truly have never seen an MMO be so openly supportive of their roleplayers and fanficcers before.

Still - player lore needs official lore as a starting point and as a way to tie the myriad player stories together, and TR could definitely use a little more in that area.
