This is a real loss for the gaming community. While I understand the business issues involved, there's nothing out there like Myst Online - and with URU now having failed twice, I'm afraid it'll be a long time before we see another game like it. Thanks to GameTap and Cyan Worlds for the great trip.

That game was awkward in every way. The only "puzzle solving" I managed to engage in the four or five times I logged in, involved navigating through the landscape. I can't say I'll miss it.

While I do agree that this is quite the loss (again) I echo Max's thoughts in that it was a bit awkward to play. It had the potential to become something grand but some of the puzzles were a bit off (I remember one where you had to stand in one spot, in real-time for an hour? Can't remember exactly.)

Despite it's struggles it did manage to be resurrected and so that means it could be evolved into something else and keep the Myst series alive. I'd be sad to see such a groundbreaking series go away, more-so than the MMO.

I'm really sorry to hear this, its a game I greatly enjoyed and one I always meant to play more often than I did. This is a real loss an I'm sorry that it's passing.
