The epic quests had originally been slated to release with the Rise of Kunark expansion, but due to the San Diego fires, development was pushed back. To make the original release after their setbacks would have meant a compromise to the quality of the quests or to the quality of the expansion, depending on how they channeled their resources, and neither of these options were preferable for the development team.

As much as I respect the dev team for EQ2 at SOE, 3 months after ROK launch = 1 week of the San Diego fires, these Epic quests better be pretty in depth, been a long time in the making.

I almost hate the level of "polish" everything "needs" now. When vetting becomes a hassle for deployment, and content comes 3 months alter than promised, no one wins.
