In fairness when I stated exploration was "literally painful" I meant to your character. Despite the lag in Torden Mires it is one of my favorite zones in the game. I think the only assertion I made (and it was subtle) concerned needing a few more missions in the upper levels. I can see how that might read that I'm asking for a change though.

Once I hit tier 4 the game faltered for me. My goal was the sniper, and I made the necessary level 30 fairly early in Plateau. Now Plateau for me is a wondefully designed zone, but I rapidly began to falter in terms of finding quests. It seemed I might have skipped ahead a bit quicker than was designed as I could see some quest givers who looked like they were tagged to higher levels than me (is this my fault, or a design fault? I've never intentionally rushed ahead in any MMORPG). Well I sat down and got in to the grind and my sniper made 32 through Plateau grinding, jumping back into Mires for a bit (yucky lag but nice zone) and even jumping past Plateau to Marshes briefly.

So for me the wheels have really come off. At level 30 you have hit the top tier, many players will have saved skill points to max out tier 4 skills (.eg. I saved enough to max torqueshell rifles on my sniper immediately) and quests just start to feel thin even if zones continue to be nicely designed.

Shame, because after enjoying Tabula Rasa more than any other MMORPG in recent times I already feel little desire to log in at just level 32. It's fast fun and refreshing at first, but then it just disappears into nothingness far too early.

Why do big MMO developers keep getting it wrong.

If your playerbase is going to hit engame so fast (which they will do) then why build a leveling game?

Really, spend that development time coming up with new ways to create an awesome end-game. Get rid of leveling, period. We don't need it. Advancement and exploration can happen without it.

Then, with everyone at lvl50 or whatever you want to call it, we can focus on fun.
